This is the 5th year of the Watershed Investigations Program at The Florida Aquarium’s Center for Conservation in Apollo Beach, FL. Title 1 students from Hillsborough County Public Schools visit the site twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. The students collect water quality data and observe the biodiversity of the site. They then take the data and compare it to previous years to make predictions about what the site will look like in five years and in 50 years. The EarthEcho Water Challenge has been a great addition to the program, allowing us to immerse more students in hands-on science with the test kits. We have received great feedback from the teachers about the kits and how they have greatly enhanced the students’ experiences.
